Chengdu / Updated: 2016-09-22 / PR Newswire / -- The Third ICoTA China Chapter International Coiled Tubing Seminar was successfully held on Sep. 21st -22nd, 2016 in Chengdu. The seminar was hosted by ICoTA China Chapter and organized by JASON Energy Technologies Co., Ltd., the wholly-owned subsidiary of JASON O&G Equipment, LLC.

As an international organization of coiled tubing, ICoTA is dedicated to exchanging experience and sharing technologies in the field. With the previous two seminars successfully held in China, the third seminar inherited the fine tradition of interaction and communication of the association. Li Gensheng, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and more than 10 experts in coiled tubing from the USA, Canada, the Middle East and China delivered excellent speeches. The seminar was attended by around 40 entities, including scientific research institutions, like China University of Petroleum and Chongqing University of Science & Technology, big oil companies, like China National Petroleum Corporation, Sinopec Group and China National Offshore Oil Corporation, as well as petroleum equipment manufacturers, like National Oilwell Varco, Tenaris, Jereh Group and Creat Group Corporation.

12 specialized meetings of sharing academic achievements took place during the seminar, which lasted for two days. Focused on the development trend and technological innovation of coiled tubing industry, the seminar covered the topics of drilling, workover, logging, fracturing, milling, application of simulation software and API5c8 industry standard.
Mr. Gao Lei, chairman of ICoTA China and president of JASON O&G Equipment, LLC, delivered opening speech on behalf of the ICoTA headquarter. He expressed his desire to gather the efforts of the experts from across the world to yield extensive benefits through the platform of ICoTA and called on the colleagues in the industry to jointly overcome difficulties with confidence and embrace the rally of the oil and gas industry.
Mr. Li Gensheng introduced the research project of “the Technologies, Equipment and Development Trend of Coiled Tubing”. As was analyzed by Li, the coiled tubing technologies would develop towards rock-breaking drilling by critical CO?, non-contact rock-breaking heating by thermal jet, integration of CT radial drilling and fracturing, Intelligent CT drilling of branch well. The attendees conducted in-depth discussion and interaction on Li’s sharing. Afterwards, the experts from home and abroad shared their ideas on the technological development and the field application CT. The seminar was immersed in heated academic atmosphere.
In the era of low oil price, technological advances, cost reduction and efficiency improvement are critical for the industry development. It was agreed by the attendees that technological exchanges and docking were realized through the seminar, which would facilitate better application of the new technologies and processes and improve the equipment and processes of manufacturing coiled tubing globally.
